MY FIRST BAKING EXPERIENCE

I was in Grade 10 I made a butter cake. I learned it from uncle Lloyd, a well-known Sri Lankan chef who lives next door to us. As he said, everything should be taken in the right dose. Butter, sugar, flour and eggs should all be taken in same quantity. So I took 200 g each. Butter and eggs should be at room temperature.

I got a bowl and put into the blended sugar and butter. I mixed it for 10 minutes on hand beater. Then I added eggs one by one and blend it. After that I started adding flour little by little and stirred it with a spatula.

Finally I added 1 tsp of  baking powder and 1 1/2 tsp of vanilla essence. And also 1 tbsp of fresh milk. When it was the right time to put in to a preheated oven, I got a baking tray and out butter into it. I cleared all the air bubbles from a toothpick and then put on the oven in 180 C’. 40 minutes later smell began to spread throughout the house and I got the cake from the oven. Yes , I am glad it turned out to be super delicious 🤤.
